Caravan Club
Fišerová, Barbora ; Kubíková, Zuzana (referee) ; Kijonka, Lukáš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis describes the evolution and changes of the phenomenon of organized caravaning in our country from its beginning and its boom to the present. Due to the breadth of the selected theme in the monitored period, from the 1970s to 2019, I focus mainly on Western Bohemia, specifically the Caravan Club Pilsen, of which my family is a member. Part of the book is the autobiographically written memory of Jan Valenta, who wrote the club “Chronicle” from around 1980 to 2011, archival photographs and authorial texts and narrative interviews. The caravanist's biographies allow us to look at both the specifics of this phenomenon and the form of tourism, as well as the functioning of Czech society in the period of so-called normalization and years after. The research as an “insider-caravanist” and the editing of available material resulted in a printed book that maps the historical development and transformations of CC Pilsen from a personal perspective.
A Biographical Study of Vida Neuwirthova: The Influence of Family Heritage on her Artistic Life and Work
Hradecká, Markéta ; Wohlmuth Markupová, Jana (advisor) ; Houda, Přemysl (referee)
A BiographicalStudy of VidaNeuwirthova: The Influence ofFamilyHeritage on herArtistic Life and Work Using biographical methodology within contemporary historic studies, this thesis aims to present interpretations of life events as they were understood by the main subject of this research - Vida Neuwirthova- based on further analyses and interpretations of oral- historical interviews and other sources. Vida Neuwirthova is known to the public as a popular actress in the famous film Tri veterani (1984), and a dramatic shortcut in the understanding of her life events has influenced her current media image. Detailed biographical study reveals that the core of her life story is based on the discovery early in young adulthood of her Jewish heritage from her paternal family line. This important change in the understanding of her identity influenced the way she activated her artistic performance during the so-called "late normalisation"of the 1980s, founding the children's theater Feigele within the local Prague Jewish community. This period of time was characterized by an authoritarian state regime with a declared antisemitic ideology which tried to suppress and/or assimilate any signs of Jewish identity. In my thesis, I explore a possible change of meaning that Vida Neuwirthova provides in a retrospective...

Dissertation abstract Stubborn Marie: life stories of the women of the "generation enchanted by science" Jana Římanová, 2023 The dissertation examines the life stories of important Czech scientists who completed their university studies mostly in the 1960s. The main part of the research is the analysis of ten biographical interviews conducted in accordance with the methodology of oral history. The central goal of the research was to answer the question of which key moments and preconditions led these women to successfully establish themselves in the male-dominated academic environment. The research examines the circumstances of origin, life strategies and turning points that influenced the careers of these important personalities of Czech science. The interviews provide an intimate insight into the lives of these women and thus take into account the personal lines of their stories, which have undoubtedly had a significant impact on their careers, but are often omitted in usually publicly published scientific biographies. The conclusions of the research include the following thesis: The support of the family and mentors on the way to higher education was essential for the successful scientific career of these women. The role of the supervisor of the dissertation and whether he helped the women to get their...
Development of motives in Jan Skacel's poetry
Dvořáková, Kateřina ; Neumann, Lukáš (advisor) ; Smrčka, Jiří (referee)
Main goal of this thesis is determining and comparing repeating motives which appear throuhgout the poets work. This paper aims to first evaluate a dominance of certain motives above the others and then to determine in which collection is their influence greater and how this dominance changes accordingly from the earliest to the latest works. Simultaneously these motives will be compared with key motives in Skácels poems for kids and - supposing there are similar motives - then if their function and meaning differs. The attention of investigating those motives will also be oriented towards collections, which were published parallelly at the same time, as the assumption is, that there will be many more similar features and since they were probably created simultaneously, it will be easier to find differences in authors work that are adressed to both groups of readers. One of the goals of this paper i salso to sumarize the most important milestones of authors life. By dilligent analysis of individual collection were established groups of dominant motives and a comparison between the colleciont for adult and children readers was made. It was also found out that collection published parallelly were not created simultaneously and therefore they do not carry similar features. From accessible informations...

Biography - the story of life: an effective tool for setting up individual care for a person
LORKO, Radomíra
The thesis examines whether and how biography can be used in field social work to support independent living for people with intellectual disabilities. The service promoting independence and development in the areas of social inclusion relies in its practice on the method of Person-Centred Planning, which results in an Individual Plan. In my work, I seek to demonstrate that this Individual Plan can be meaningfully enriched with important elements from the client's history and can reflect their relevance in the client's current experience and coping. I refer to these elements, obtained through the recording of biography, as key biographical elements. What I observe about these elements is whether they play a positive or negative role in the client's life. I believe that key positive biographical elements can serve as bridges to coping in the present situation and are powerful motivators for acquiring new competencies and for further personal development. Conversely, knowing the negative elements can help us work with the client to set up effective communication and a more direct path to coping and achieving the client's individual goals. In this work, biography is a tool for me to extract key elements from the past life and to use these to enrich the current records of the client's current situation. Based on such a comprehensive picture, I can support the client effectively and with maximum understanding of their individuality.

Ignát Hořica: Austrian Officer on the slavonic South.
HAVLÍČEK, Filip
This bachelor thesis is focused on Ignát Hořica and his literature. It is an incomplete monology - complete monology would be over the criteria the bachelor thesis. This thesis is divided to two parts - theoretical (biography), and practical (interpretation of Hořica's war themed literature, and literature of other themes of his literature). Due to lack of the society's interest is my thesis only a summary of the basic articles - the original intention was also comparing of war stories in Bosnia by different authors of the same genre, but even this part would be over the criteria of the bachelor thesis.
